How can a donation plan coexist with a cleanout without assuming an organisation will accept every item?

Confirm the recipient and handoff, assign transport and decide what happens to unaccepted items before updating the cleanout inventory.

Separate intended donation from confirmed acceptance

Make a list of items the owner hopes to donate and identify the proposed recipient. Ask that organisation directly about current acceptance, condition and collection arrangements. A useful item or an earlier donation does not establish that this item is accepted now. Keep it marked pending until the relevant decision is confirmed.

Assign the transport and preparation

Record who will prepare the item and who will move it to the receiving organisation if accepted. Do not assume an ordinary junk collection includes a donation appointment, storage or transport to another address. Ask Anchor about the requested physical scope and keep any recipient agreement separate.

Plan for a changed decision

Decide what happens if the organisation declines an item or the handoff cannot take place as arranged. The owner may retain it, seek another route or ask for a revised collection scope. Avoid giving a blanket instruction to dispose of anything left behind when some items still have an unresolved decision.

Confirm completion before the next collection

Update the cleanout inventory after the donation handoff. Remove items that have already left and identify those still present. An illustrative plan may send an accepted table through the owner's chosen recipient while other furniture remains on the agreed collection list. Neither Anchor nor this guide promises donation acceptance, a charitable receipt or a particular reuse outcome.
