Commercial removal scope

Restaurant clearance and interior strip-outs

Anchor Demolition Scarborough · Reviewed

Anchor assesses ordinary restaurant contents clearance and attached interior removals as distinct scopes. Describe what is loose, what is fixed to the building and what remains connected to specialist systems before requesting a restaurant strip-out.

Start with the dining area and kitchen separately

Loose tables and chairs may be ready for an authorised collection while booths, counters and room partitions remain attached. The kitchen can contain supplier-owned or connected equipment that needs a different provider. A closed restaurant is not evidence that those items have been released for demolition.

The restaurant contents guide helps organise ownership and collection. Anchor's ordinary removal enquiry does not take over gas, refrigeration, extraction, suppression or specialist kitchen-equipment work.

Select the physical package

Intended changeAttached removal to assess
New dining conceptFixed seating, reception counters, decorative dividers and named finishes
Retained kitchen with front-area renewalCustomer-facing interiors with a clear retained kitchen boundary
Landlord resetListed tenant fit-out across agreed rooms, with building systems and retained features identified

Identify floor and wall layers by area. Removing a fixed booth can reveal a different surface beneath it; it does not automatically include preparation for the replacement finish. The next contractor should state the condition it needs.

Coordinate the release of connected areas

The owner, GC and relevant providers identify when affected equipment and systems have been addressed. Where an unresolved connection changes the removal boundary, keep that item outside the agreed ordinary package until it can be assessed properly. No decontamination, hood cleaning, food-premises approval or equipment reuse warranty is included by implication.

Our post-clearance restaurant guide compares the building work left after furniture and stock have gone. A food-court unit also needs tenant and centre-owned areas distinguished.
