Pool removal options: questions before choosing a method

What information is needed before deciding whether a pool is fully or partly removed?
Ask what each proposed option removes, what it leaves and which approvals and records are needed for the area's intended future use.
Identify the pool and the intended result
Describe whether the pool is above-ground or in-ground and provide any available construction records. Explain the intended future use of the area. The removal plan should respond to those facts and applicable requirements, not simply to the idea that one option removes less material.
Ask what each proposal leaves behind
Have the assessor describe the proposed extent of removal and identify anything intended to remain below ground. Ask what records would show that condition afterwards. A phrase such as pool filled in does not identify the remaining structure, the assessed method or the documented handover.
Keep future construction questions with the designer
If a building or other significant change is planned, bring that information into the assessment before choosing the pool-removal scope. Neither the existence of fill nor a neat finished surface certifies suitability for future construction. Ask the relevant professional and municipality which approvals and evidence apply to the proposed use.
Compare responsibilities, not generic promises
List who addresses connected equipment, access, material handling and the final agreed site condition. Request a clear statement of exclusions. Anchor can assess a pool-removal request, but this guide does not select a filling method, give a compaction specification or guarantee a particular future use. The matching handover guide helps record the outcome once the method and responsibilities have been established.
