A daily access plan while a demolition bin is on site

By Anchor Demolition Scarborough · Updated
Once a bin position has been agreed, write down how the property will be used while the container is there. Household arrivals, trade deliveries and the pickup truck should not depend on someone improvising access around a full bin.
This is a coordination record for the period between placement and pickup. The separate bin-placement guide covers the initial location, measurements and public-space approval question.
Start from the approved layout
Keep a simple sketch showing the container, agreed walking route, gates, doors and any retained parking space. Share the same sketch with the property contact and trades. If the container uses the available vehicle space, record the temporary parking arrangement rather than implying cars can squeeze through.
Make a daily access list
List the people and deliveries expected to use the property. For each, record the route, the person providing access and any arrangement needed before arrival. Avoid publishing personal schedules on an exposed site notice.
- Resident access and entry door
- Trade arrival and unloading point
- Collection vehicle approach
- Gate or key contact
- Alternative arrangement when routes conflict
Resolve conflicts before they arrive
A material delivery can occupy the same space needed for bin pickup. Ask the site contact to reconcile those movements before confirming either visit. Tell the container provider if parked vehicles, stored materials or a changed work zone affect its original access plan.
Do not move the container, extend a loading area or block a retained route as an informal workaround. A changed site layout needs reassessment by the people responsible for the work and the property.
Check the pickup handover
Before pickup, confirm that the provider can reach the container and that the agreed surrounding area is clear. After removal, check the loading area against the original protection and cleanup scope. Record any remaining material with the responsible contractor so the next delivery does not arrive at an unexpected obstruction.
Questions about this topic
- Is this a bin-placement plan?
- No. Choose and assess the bin location first. This record coordinates use of the property after that decision.
- What if access changes during the job?
- Tell the property contact and container provider before the next movement. Revisit the layout rather than assuming the original route remains usable.
