Anchor Demolition Scarborough · Reviewed
An unfinished demolition project needs a new assessment of what remains, not a request to inherit the original description unchanged. Separate completed work, partly removed assemblies and untouched areas before asking Anchor about the remaining package.
Explain the handover without assuming the cause
Work can pause because a contractor's package ended, the owner changed the design or an unexpected condition needs professional review. State the known reason and identify the current project contact. A new contractor's visit does not decide contractual responsibility or resolve an outstanding technical issue.
Ask the GC which drawings and instructions are current. Keep older documents available as history, but distinguish them from the version intended to govern the remaining work.
Walk the actual condition
| Condition found | Information needed |
|---|---|
| Untouched rooms | Current removal boundaries and retained elements |
| Partly removed fit-out | Where removal stopped and what still supports or connects to it |
| Detached debris | Material description, ownership and collection route |
| Exposed retained surfaces | Condition record and next-trade requirements |
Do not enter or disturb a restricted work area to complete this list. The responsible project professionals establish access, structural, service and material requirements. The scope-change guide helps keep changed instructions visible.
Replace the package, not just the contractor name
In an illustrative office takeover, ceiling removal is complete in two rooms, corridor flooring remains and a partition is held pending a design decision. The revised package names the flooring and agreed debris collection. It keeps the partition held and records that the completed ceiling work is outside the new removal instruction.
A different takeover may have no technical hold, simply a changed room list. Another may require investigation before any further demolition is assessable. Those cases should not receive the same restart promise.
Request assessment of the remaining work
Contact Anchor with current photographs taken from authorised areas, the intended endpoint and the GC or owner contact. Identify the next contractor's needs using the trade handover guide. Scope, sequence and availability must be agreed for the actual condition; no emergency mobilisation, inherited warranty or transfer of approvals is implied.
